Final CARE draw

There will be an end of year CARE draw this Thursday morning, June 28th during the assembly prior to report cards being handed out.  Students should bring along any RED CARE tickets they have left to go in for the draw.  The prize is an 8" Samsung Tablet (32 GB).  A fantastic prize!! So please don't forget your CARE tickets. 

Islaview Day-- May 25, 2018

In honor of Islaview Day, we are selling paper cupcakes to display on our school walls for $1 each, and each purchase will allow students's names to go in for a draw of two prizes that were donated to our school, which are a gaming mouse and a gaming keyboard and mouse combo (pictured below).  All money raised from the cupcakes will be donated to the Islaview foundation.
Xavier will also have a waffle breakfast and CARE auction for our students on Friday, May 25, 2018 first period in the morning.  Students are asked to bring in their CARE tickets that they have collected for the auction.

Janeway Auction--- May 25, 2018

In the afternoon of Friday, May 25, 2018 we will have our annual Janeway Auction.  We are asking students to bring in donations if they haven't already done so to help support the Janeway Foundation.  The money classes raise will be used to bid on delicious treats they can enjoy.  Donation of treats will be provided by staff, but if parents would like to donate treats for the auction, we will gladly accept them.

Janeway Auction Postponed

Scholastic Book Fair

This year's Scholastic Book Fair at Xavier will be held Tuesday December 5 from 9am to 5pmWednesday December 6 from 9am to 3pmThursday December 7 from 9am to 12 noon, and during parent teacher interview times 1:30pm to 3:30pm and 6pm to 8pm. It will be held in the library and members of the community are asked to use the main doors and buzz for entrance!! 

Our goal this year is to bring in $3000!! We will receive 60% of this, giving us the ability to buy approximately 225 new books for the school library!! Students will be given the opportunity to help select titles or genres of books to ensure there is something for everyone!!

Please return ballet found on book fair flyer by recess time on Thursday December 7th to be entered into the draw for $25 worth of book fair merchandise (and $25 for your classroom). Also be on the look out for other contests at the fair!! Gift certificates and prizes are up for grabs.

Christmas Initiatives

Our school will be participating in two Christmas initiatives leading up to our Christmas break.

1. Coats and Boots Drive:  If you have gently used children's coats and boots (any size) that you would like to donate to children in need please have your child bring them into the school by December 8, 2017 at which point all items will be distributed to a variety of local organizations

2. Food Drive: We are asking students to bring in non-perishable food items which will be collected until Monday, Dec. 18th.  There will be two large stockings located in both the east and west wing lobbies which will track the items donated at each grade level.  The grade level with the most donations will receive a prize during the week before Christmas break.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

Reports cards go home on Friday, December 1, 2017 for term 1 for grades 6 to 9.  Parent Teacher interviews will be Thursday, December 7, 2017.  We will be using a new online system called OPTIS that will allow parents to register and book their appointments with teachers online.  The information in the link below will give you all the information you need to get started.  OPTIS will open for parents at 3pm on Friday December 1, 2017.
